Communications and Media

We design, develop and implement targeted communications strategies that deliver tangible results. This can be for specific campaigns or launches, or across corporate communications. It can range from carrying out situational analysis and publications audits, to developing communications strategies, goals, objectives, vision and mission, identifying key target audiences, messaging, media outreach plans, risk management and monitoring and evaluation.

We carry out well-crafted media campaigns to secure both quality and quantity of coverage in all types of media outlets globally, garnering press interest and helping to frame the debate of our client’s issues.

We develop and implement global and regional media launches of campaigns, reports, announcements and conferences. This can include managing launches taking place in various parts of the world, both developed and developing, as well as media pitching and profiling opportunities to raise awareness and coverage of organisations, their leaders and their issues. We also run on-site press centres at international conferences and events, and organise media field trips to see the work on the ground, putting a human face to the global story.

Editorial and Messaging

We have skilled writers and editors who have experience as journalists or in non-profit sector. We can advise on and write an array of press and advocacy materials for a range of audiences and mediums. Whether it’s a press release, media factsheets, policy position papers, talking points, advice for spokespeople, advocacy guidelines or annual reports, we can help.

We provide expert advice on messaging – from articulating compelling messages on complex issues, to developing a simple yet powerful strapline. This includes messaging frameworks as part of communications strategies, messaging for specific media launches or running workshops to bring consensus on topline messaging for organisations and campaigns.

We also have experience of developing messaging and materials with a resource mobilisation aim for donors, both traditional and new, working with clients to ensure they articulate and present the best proposition they can.

Advocacy

We provide strategic and practical advice for effective advocacy including lobbying, public education and policy-influencing in a mix of arenas and forums. Whether it’s identifying and working with political and parliamentary groups, policy makers and donors, to knowing who to go to within civil society and academia, we support clients to help them find the best policy avenues and partners to achieve their goals. We know the issues, institutions and key players, and have an extensive network of relationships and contacts to utilise.

Communications and Advocacy Training

Our team has experience designing and running workshops and courses focused on building and improving communications capacity, addressing how to effectively integrate media and advocacy efforts, as well as training media spokespeople.
