Malaria

As recently as five years ago many felt malaria was the “poor cousin” of HIV/AIDS due to an insufficient amount of attention and funding being directed to the disease. Now, malaria has been placed much higher on the policy and international development agenda, accompanied by a much greater public awareness and increased level of resources.

BRC has been involved in a range of malaria-focused projects and campaigns aimed at injecting both a sense of urgency and improved collaboration across partners to unite around fighting malaria and raising the all important public and political awareness of, and commitment to, a malaria free world.

Our work includes;
●   Developing communications strategy and branding for three year multi-country project with the International Red Cross
●   Convenor of Communications Subcommittee for the European Alliance Against Malaria
●   Writing media and communications materials on malaria
●   Ran messaging workshop with Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV)
●   Wrote donor presentation and refined funding proposition for MMV
●   Organizing media field trips on malaria in Ethiopia and Cambodia
●   Annual events around World Malaria Day
●   Part of a Steering Group for UK Coalition Against Malaria and communications consultants to the Coalition.
