There have been many critical moments in the 30 year history of HIV/AIDS which has seen effective campaigning in both the West and the developing world bring the disease to the forefront of people’s awareness and political commitment. The tragedies arising from HIV and AIDS are faced in every continent in the world and communications and advocacy efforts have been critical in scaling up the global response to the pandemic.
With more than 20 years experience working with leading global health and UN agencies on HIV/AIDS, BRC has assisted clients in raising awareness on a range of issues - from testing and stigma to access to treatment and male circumcision - communicating their messages and profiling their role in the fight against HIV/AIDS. At a time when competition for both attention and resources is intense, we continue to support clients in their communications outreach, from annual launches of key new data on HIV, to campaigns around World AIDS Day and media field trips, aiming to generate coverage of, and ensure continued commitment to, fighting HIV/AIDS.
Our work includes;
● Global and regional launches of WHO Universal Access (London, Geneva and Nairobi) ● Media field trip for AIDS Alliance to the Ukraine focused on drug users ● Part of WHO and Gates Foundation media teams at International AIDS Conferences (Toronto, Mexico City, Vienna) ● Media and online campaign for World AIDS Day with the International AIDS Alliance ● Launch of WHO’s HIV Testing Guidelines and Male Circumcision Consultation results ● Annual launches of WHO and UNAIDS AIDS Epidemic Updates ● Profiling key UN HIV leaders with influential media audiences.
